The MGA Twin-Cam, introduced in 1958, was envisioned as a high-performance automobile capable of reaching impressive speeds, boasting estimated top velocities of up to 113 miles per hour. However, the vehicle’s ambitious aspirations were thwarted by persistent engine-related challenges. Notably, the engine exhibited a propensity to overheat due to issues with burnt oil, frequently resulting in detonation problems. Despite attempts to address these issues in subsequent models, production of the Twin-Cam was ultimately discontinued in 1960.
