The Waterman Aerobile, produced from 1935 to 1939, possessed a futuristic allure reminiscent of vehicles from comic book realms like DC Comics’ Green Arrow. However, despite its intriguing concept and unconventional design, the public’s response to the two-seater aircraft/car hybrid was tepid at best. Over the span of several years in the late 1930s, a mere five units of the Aerobile were manufactured—a testament to its limited commercial success. Despite its novelty and innovative features, the Aerobile failed to capture widespread appeal, contributing to its short-lived production run and relegation to obscurity within automotive history.
